After the sound wave hits the hard surface below, the returning part interferes with the incident sound wave generated by the laser, producing high-energy waves, which cause the layer to explode in a small range. The layer is compressed into powder and then cleared by the vacuum pump, while the underlying substrate will not be damaged.

From the analysis of the method, there are four kinds of laser cleaning methods:
